In his own mind, Jonathan Bebb’s brutal stabbing of his father was an act of self-defense.
Bebb, who was found innocent by reason of insanity of aggravated murder, took the witness stand at an Athens County Common Pleas Court hearing held Wednesday to determine his fate. Ultimately, Judge Michael Ward ordered Bebb to be committed to Twin Valley Behavioral Healthcare’s Timothy B. Moritz Forensic Center in Columbus. There he will remain for period of six months, after which he will return to Athens for another hearing.
